We invite your participation in Housing for All Calvert. There is a long, hard road set before us as we seek to alleviate the housing crisis that grips our County. The homeless and those on fixed incomes – the disabled and senior citizens – are hardest hit by our lack of affordable housing, but many others are impacted as well: single income families, service sector workers, children of long-time residents, teachers, public safety officials, medical technicians and providers of many necessary services who cannot afford to live in the county in which they work. We welcome your commitment to support the broad-based initiatives we believe will benefit all of our citizens.
In order for us to effectively mount and sustain our housing campaign, we need to be able to count on active participation from each of our member organizations and congregations.
We hope that our member organizations will:
- Be represented at all HFAC General Meetings (usually held the 3rd Thursday of the month)
- Provide a contact person and contact information to HFAC to expedite communications and information dissemination
- Regularly write letters to the BOCC supporting specific goals of the HFAC initiative
- Produce turnout for all Public Hearing of the Zoning Commission and the BOCC
